New 52 Supergirl by SketchyMcDrawpants New 52 Supergirl by SketchyMcDrawpants
Supergirl is a title that I thought would continue to be mediocre in the reboot, but Iíve gotta say that Iíve really been enjoying it. Love the art and the story is interesting and entertaining. Pick it up if you havenít already.
oh, and hey look - backgrounds, lol.

Cool Picture I casted AnnaSophia Robb to play The New 52 Supergirl version.. She will make a great idea playing Superman's Cousin Kara of Argo City.
Daniel Craig and Brooke Shields should play her parents Zor-El and Allura In-Ze. If the Man of Steel sequels get going. I think the SUPERMAN: Brainiac Crossover shall work in MOS (Part 2) that will tells the epic story Brainiac taken over Kandor and left the citizens of Argo City flee into space.

Here is the Casting Call: MOS
AnnaSophia Robb as Supergirl/Kara
Daniel Craig as Zor-El
Brooke Shields as Allura In-Ze

Wow! Another great DCnU drawing! I was very hesitant about Supergirl's title at first. I wasn't sure why she needed to be rebooted so soon after she'd already been by Loeb and Turner. However, I've stuck with her title and I have to say that I'm finding this version to be superior to the previous. I really love how she's struggling so far and that she's still very green. Of course, the non-trashy costume totally helps too!

Anyway, this is an absolutely fabulous piece! I love Kara's stoic expression here as she seems quite pensive and I think that really reflects how her character has been post-relaunch. I like the pose as well. It's strong, grounded. You've done a great job on the costume and I think the colours on it are deep and lush. Another area I feel you excelled at here is the overall movement of the piece. I love that Kara's hair isn't stylishly windswept... it's dishevelled and messy which works so brilliantly! And I love the flow of the cape. Lastly, I want to say how great the background and snow are. You've done a spectacular job on creating a "moment" with this piece and I feel like it truly tells a story. :)

She's pretty great, and so far one of the few characters they haven't slutted up. Thanks for the comments, you seem to get what I was going for, and that's appreciated.

The few? I'd say that there are fewer "slutted up" characters than otherwise. Harley, Selina and Starfire are really the hyper-sexualized characters in the relaunch. Batgirl, Supergirl, Batwoman, Wonder Woman, Canary, Ivy (surprisingly), Katana, Starling and the ladies of the JLI (with the exception of maybe Godiva) aren't portrayed as sex objects. It's actually a nice change for DC. XD

That's a great point, I think I got caught up on how pissed i was about Starfire, Harley and Catwoman, and didn't stop to do the very simple math.

It is somewhat depressing what is being done with Starfire, Harley and Catwoman and I don't think that there shouldn't be complaints. Starfire I've always seen as slightly trampy (at least in Earth standards) but Harley and Selina not so much. I think Judd Winnick is pushing the sexy envelope too far with Selina and it makes her seem classless. Selina is classy. Ed Brubaker's run was really the last time the character was written well... and considering how long ago that was that makes it pretty sad.

Starfire's trampiness was kinda innocent before, it was about emotional connections - now she has no emotions or something, it's weird she's like a blow-up doll. You're spot-on with Selina.

Starfire herself is a mass of swirling psychological contradictions. Her origins deals with her as a survivor of rape yet she seems almost innocent to the ways of sex following that. It doesn't make much sense and it seems no writer wants to touch that part of her history. However, I don't think I'd ever call her "innocent." If you look back at the panels where she kisses Dick for the first time... there's nothing innocent. She's sexually aggressive. She knows what she's doing. However, the emotional component does make sense. She liked Dick. That's why she slept with him. Now, from what I've read second-hand (since I refuse to buy the title), it's just that she's an alien and aliens are just supposed to f*ck anyone they want.
